Olympic Queen is 66 by 80 inches in the cited US specialty profile. That is 167.6 by 203.2 centimetres, or 5 ft 6 in by 6 ft 8 in, and the footprint covers 5,280 square inches, about 36.7 square feet. The name also appears as Expanded Queen; the dimensions in this profile are the ones listed in the sources below.

Olympic Queen compared with Queen and King

In the same profile, Queen is 60 by 80 inches and King is 76 by 80 inches. Olympic Queen sits between them: 6 inches wider than Queen and 10 inches narrower than King, with the same 80-inch length as both. Two adults sharing an Olympic Queen have 33 inches each, compared with 30 inches on a Queen and 38 inches on a King.

Room space for an Olympic Queen

Consider a 12 ft by 12 ft room, with the mattress length aligned to the room length, both sides open, one 20 by 20 inch nightstand, and side and foot clearances each set to 24 inches. Olympic Queen requires 134 inches across and 104 inches along the room, leaving 10 inches across and 40 inches along. A Queen in the same layout needs 128 inches across, and a King needs 144 inches, so the Olympic Queen's 6 extra inches of width must come out of the remaining room space. These 24-inch clearances are preferences for the worked example, not standards; measure doors, fixed furniture and the actual frame separately.

Bedding, frames and availability

Olympic Queen is a specialty size. Standard Queen fitted sheets are 6 inches too narrow, and Queen frames and headboards are built for a 60-inch mattress. Some manufacturers and bedding makers sell Olympic Queen items directly; others treat it as a custom order. Confirm that frame, foundation and bedding are all sized for 66 by 80 inches before ordering.
