Editorial standards

We keep a source and its revision with each published dimension, then calculate unit conversions, differences and geometry from those records. A familiar size label does not prove that all manufacturers use the same measurements. Where guides disagree, we retain the difference in the review record and publish one identified nominal profile rather than an average assembled from conflicting values. We write the explanations for this site and review their actual dependencies, usefulness and limits. A changed fact, method or presentation requires the affected content to be reviewed again. A source-reading date, a human review date and a software build date are different events; rebuilding does not make a source newly checked.
